Still Life: Jars & a Pineapple - Original Oil on Canvas 30 x 40 cm
Again, the 17th century still life artist, Chardin, who regularly used everyday objects to create his compositions, was the inspiration for this work.
To create this painting, I used some jars from my own kitchen, together with a pineapple and squash. The earthenware jars, contrasting with the fleshiness of fruit, bring a softness to the composition. My choice of a neutral/earthy palette, reflects the rustic nature of the jars.
I wanted to show, through this painting, that everyday objects have their own inherent beauty.
